By mixing functions, the design can achieve a more balanced energy demand throughout the day, and the installation can operate more efficiently. In the design, energy demand and supply are as far as possible brought into balance with one another. Waste is used to generate energy; the volume of waste produced varies per function; the ratio of the different functions has been adapted to the demand for energy. The result is a virtually closed-off cycle for waste, energy, water and CO₂.
